Sheffield Resources Delivers Record Quarterly Production at Thunderbird Mineral Sands Mine.

Sheffield Resources Limited (ASX: SFX) has reported record quarterly performance at the Thunderbird Mineral Sands Mine, operated through its 50:50 joint venture Kimberley Mineral Sands (KMS) with Yansteel. During the September 2025 quarter, approximately 3.0 million tonnes of ore were mined, marking a 6% increase from the previous quarter. Concentrate production reached a record ~249,000 tonnes, driven by record ilmenite output of ~203,000 tonnes and zircon concentrate of ~46,000 tonnes.

The quarter also saw shipments of ~217,000 tonnes, including ~178,000 tonnes of ilmenite and ~39,000 tonnes of zircon. Executive Chair Bruce Griffin noted that the strong results reflect the successful implementation of KMS’s business improvement plan, representing a significant turnaround and laying the foundation for future growth. Thunderbird, one of the largest mineral sands discoveries in recent decades, is positioned to deliver long-term, high-quality mineral sands products to global markets.
