Western Gold Advances Gold Duke with Pre-Mining Contracts and Mine Operator Appointment
Western Gold Resources Limited (ASX: WGR) has taken a key step toward near-term production at its 100%-owned Gold Duke Project in Western Australia by executing multiple pre-mining contracts. Letters of Award have been issued to SSH Mining Australia Pty Ltd to commence early site works, including clearing, grubbing, haul road delineation and broader site establishment across approved mining areas. In parallel, SSH Mining, together with LGIRS, has been appointed as Mine Operator under a turnkey development solution, supporting a streamlined transition into mining. Western Gold has also awarded contracts to Pennington Scott Pty Ltd and Delta Consultancy & Drilling Services Pty Ltd for construction of the Bower Bird water bore, delivering a dedicated water supply for mining operations and dust management. These early works follow the Board’s Decision to Mine and materially reduce execution risk ahead of planned mobilisation and first gold production targeted for Q1 calendar year 2026, while the company continues to assess opportunities to extend mine life.
