Source: Kapitales Research

Highlights:

  • Vysarn surged after announcing the proposed acquisition of irrigation and water infrastructure specialist NewGround.
  • Acrow rallied on expectations that its Industrial Access division will generate more than AU$200 million in FY26 revenue.
  • BrainChip advanced despite releasing an administrative update relating to employee incentive securities.

Australian shares were mixed on 3 June, but several small and mid-cap stocks posted strong gains following company-specific announcements. Vysarn Limited, Acrow Limited and BrainChip Holdings emerged among the session's strongest performers, attracting investor attention through acquisition activity, growth updates and corporate disclosures.

Stocks in Focus:

  • Vysarn Limited (ASX: VYS) rose 14.88% to AU$0.965
  • Acrow Limited (ASX: ACF) gained 12.43% to AU$0.995
  • BrainChip Holdings Ltd (ASX: BRN) climbed 10.00% to AU$0.192

Vysarn Jumps on NewGround Acquisition

Vysarn delivered the strongest gain among the group after announcing a binding agreement to acquire NewGround, a specialist provider of irrigation, water infrastructure and facilities management services.

The proposed transaction includes consideration of up to 33 million Vysarn shares and AU$25 million in cash. Management expects the acquisition to establish a new operating segment focused on water infrastructure while expanding the company's exposure beyond its traditional resource and utility markets.

Importantly, Vysarn said the acquisition could be approximately 25% earnings-per-share accretive on a pro-forma basis, assuming forecast performance metrics are achieved. The company believes the deal will provide additional scale, diversified revenue streams and more defensive earnings characteristics.

Acrow Gains on Strong Revenue Outlook

Shares in Acrow advanced after the company projected FY26 Industrial Access revenue above AU$200 million, reflecting significant year-on-year expansion. Management credited the performance to robust organic growth and contributions from the Above Scaffolding and Brand Australia acquisitions, which have exceeded initial expectations. Acrow also reported approximately AU$180 million of currently secured revenue for FY27, supported by a series of contract wins and renewals across infrastructure, energy and industrial markets. Management noted that the division continues to benefit from increasing demand for industrial maintenance and infrastructure services, providing a platform for further earnings growth.

BrainChip Advances Following Securities Update

BrainChip also recorded a double-digit gain after issuing an update to a previous ASX announcement regarding securities issued under its employee incentive scheme. The company clarified that the number of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) previously reported had been overstated by 4.74 million units, with the correct figure revised to 34.05 million RSUs. While the announcement did not contain operational or financial updates, investors appeared to respond positively to the clarification.

Investors Reward Growth and Expansion Plans

The strong performance of Vysarn and Acrow suggests investors remain focused on companies delivering tangible growth initiatives, earnings expansion and acquisition-driven opportunities. While BrainChip's announcement was administrative in nature, the stock continued to attract market interest amid ongoing attention toward artificial intelligence-related companies. As investors search for companies capable of delivering earnings growth despite broader market uncertainty, acquisition activity, revenue expansion and operational execution are likely to remain key drivers of share-price performance.
