American West Metals Expands Exploration at West Desert for Critical Minerals

American West Metals Limited (ASX: AW1) has initiated a new exploration phase at its 100%-owned West Desert Project in Utah, USA, targeting indium and gallium. The program involves resampling historical drill cores and mine waste to assess untested gallium and indium potential. West Desert hosts the largest JORC-compliant indium resource in the U.S., with only 35% of past drilling assayed for indium and 5% for gallium. Early assays indicate significant gallium mineralization, comparable to the Apex Gallium Mine in Utah. The project also contains high-grade zinc, copper, silver, and gold. With full ownership of the project land and existing drill permits, American West is positioned for rapid development. Supported by U.S. and Australian critical minerals policies, the company aims to strengthen domestic supply chains for essential metals in defense, energy, and technology sectors
