AR3 Demonstrates Scalable Rare Earth Recovery with Breakthrough Leach Program

Australian Rare Earths Limited (ASX: AR3) has reported a breakthrough in its Koppamurra rare earths project through the successful execution of a 3-tonne bulk heap leach trial. The trial achieved over 60% recovery of magnet rare earth elements (Nd, Pr, Dy, Tb) in a significantly shorter timeframe than conventional methods, validating the scalability and efficiency of the company’s progressive leaching strategy. Supported by the Australian Government’s critical minerals grant, this work confirms the project's potential for cost-effective, environmentally conscious rare earth production.

Collaborative efforts with ANSTO and Neo Performance Materials are ongoing to optimise reagent use, water recycling, impurity removal, and mixed rare earth carbonate (MREC) precipitation. These findings will feed directly into the Pre-Feasibility Study scheduled for 2025. Positioned as a secure source of both light and heavy rare earths, Koppamurra is set to become a vital contributor to diversified global supply chains in the clean energy transition.
