Origin Energy Maintains Stable Production Amid Strategic Expansion

Oct 31, 2025

Origin Energy Limited’s (ASX: ORG) September 2025 Quarterly Report highlights steady operational performance across its Integrated Gas, Energy Markets, and Octopus Energy divisions. Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) achieved consistent production of 169.9 PJ, though quarterly revenue fell 5% to AU$2.12 billion due to lower LNG volumes and prices, partially offset by higher domestic gas sales. The average realised LNG price was US$10.08/mmbtu, while domestic gas averaged AU$8.99/GJ. In Energy Markets, electricity sales remained steady, with retail growth countering weaker business demand. Origin advanced integration of its Eraring and Mortlake battery projects, critical to enhancing grid reliability. Octopus Energy expanded rapidly, adding 560,000 customer accounts globally, including 330,000 outside the UK. CEO Frank Calabria reaffirmed Origin’s focus on supporting Australia’s energy transition through reliable gas supply, renewable integration, and customer electrification initiatives
