Austral Acquires Rocklands to Establish Copper Sulphide Hub in North-West Queensland.

Austral Resources Australia Ltd (ASX: AR1) has entered into binding agreements to acquire Copper Resources Australia Pty Ltd, owner of the Rocklands Copper Mine and its 3.0Mtpa processing facility. The acquisition marks a strategic move to consolidate Austral’s copper footprint in North-West Queensland, accelerating its regional hub-and-spoke development model and bolstering sulphide processing capacity alongside its existing oxide operations at Lady Annie.

The Rocklands acquisition brings immediate scale, a defined resource base, and operational infrastructure valued at approximately AU$443 million. With a low-risk restart path, the transaction will be funded through a combination of capital raise and offtake-linked financing. It also unlocks regional toll treatment opportunities and future exploration growth. Rocklands' in-situ resource stands at 11.26Mt @ 0.69% Cu and 0.13g/t Au, with additional stockpile resources. This transformational move positions Austral to become a dominant copper producer in the Mount Isa-Cloncurry Copper District.
