Bass Oil Reports Higher Earnings Despite Revenue Dip in HY25

Sep 09, 2025

Bass Oil Limited (ASX: BAS), an Australian-listed oil producer with assets in the Cooper Basin and Indonesia, posted stronger earnings in the first half of FY25 despite softer revenue. Net entitlement oil remained steady at 31.71 mbbl, while sales revenue fell 9% to $3.71 million due to lower realised oil prices of US$71 per barrel, down from US$82. EBITDA rose 55% to $571,000, supported by disciplined operations and capital management. The company closed the period with $1.96 million in cash, aided by a $0.92 million rights issue. Bass also advanced its strategic plans, progressing financing options for the Kiwi gas and condensate field and securing the Vanessa gas field acquisition, marking a key step toward entry into the East Coast Gas Market. Safety performance remained strong, with no lost-time injuries recorded.
