Market Alert : Cooling Inflation, Rising Oil Prices: How Should Australian Investors Respond?

Brazilian Rare Earths Strengthens Strategic Position After Alurion IPO Success

Brazilian Rare Earths Limited (ASX: BRE) announced that the initial public offering (IPO) of Alurion Resources achieved its maximum subscription target, raising AU$50 million through the issue of 47.6 million shares at AU$1.05 each. Investor demand exceeded the offer size, while Alurion’s directors and management invested more than AU$4.5 million, reflecting strong confidence in the company’s future. Following the IPO, Alurion will have an implied equity valuation of approximately AU$256 million. Brazilian Rare Earths will retain a strategic 16% stake, comprising 39.0 million shares, valued at around AU$41 million at the IPO price. The company also confirmed that Alurion is expected to list on the ASX under the ticker ALU, subject to regulatory approval.

The successful capital raise provides Alurion with funding to accelerate a two-year development program for the Amargosa Bauxite-Gallium Project, including land acquisition, permitting, environmental initiatives and exploration activities. Brazilian Rare Earths stated that the demerger allows it to sharpen its focus on advancing its core rare earth and critical minerals portfolio, with the Monte Alto Scoping Study expected to be the company's next key milestone in August 2026. The indicative timetable targets Alurion’s ASX admission on 30 July 2026 and normal trading from 3 August 2026.
