D3 Energy Expands into South Australias Helium and Hydrogen Frontier

D3 Energy Limited (ASX: D3E) has acquired Unleash Energy Pty Ltd, gaining full rights to two exploration permits—PEL 121 and PEL 122—in South Australia’s underexplored Arckaringa Basin. Spanning 5,865 km², these permits mark a strategic extension of D3’s helium portfolio beyond its flagship South African ER315 project. The region's geological similarities to the Amadeus Basin, which has recorded high helium and hydrogen concentrations, offer promising exploration potential. Initial targets include Hydrohelix—a 148 km² drill-ready structure—and Cootanoorina, a thrusted basement feature. Early seismic work indicates strong structural conditions for helium entrapment, bolstered by a potential salt seal. The company plans independent resource certification for both prospects and has identified nine additional leads. The acquisition, valued at $200,000 plus equity and contingent share bonuses, supports D3’s goal to become a global helium leader while maintaining ER315 as its core focus
