DY6 Metals Strengthens Its Foothold in Cameroons Rutile Sector

DY6 Metals Ltd (ASX: DY6) has expanded its Central Rutile Project in Cameroon through the acquisition of six new exploration licence applications—collectively known as the Weaver Project—boosting its total landholding from 2,124 km² to 4,974 km². Including its Douala Basin licences, DY6 now controls 7,554 km² across Cameroon. These licences are geologically promising, lying on kyanite-bearing mica schist, a known host for rutile mineralization. The project is adjacent to Peak Minerals’ Minta Project, which has reported high-grade rutile and monazite assemblages. Initial due diligence and sampling revealed visible heavy mineral presence in both alluvial and residual forms. The acquisition agreement includes AU$125,000 in cash and 4 million DY6 shares, half of which are deferred over 12 months. With Cameroon emerging as a key global rutile province, DY6’s strategic expansion positions it to capitalize on a region analogous to the world-class Kasiya deposit in Malawi
