GreenX Metals Identifies Copper Source at Tannenberg Project

GreenX Metals Limited (ASX: GRX) has reported major exploration success at its Tannenberg Copper Project in Germany. A 58 km² airborne magnetic and radiometric survey, fully funded by BHP Xplor, revealed large-scale geological structures beneath the historic Richelsdorf copper mines, which produced over 416,000 tonnes of copper between the 1800s and 1950s.

The survey identified the Mid-European Crystalline Zone (MECZ) directly under the mining district, a formation recognized as the main copper source for Kupferschiefer deposits across Germany and Poland. This discovery marks the first modern exploration in the area in 40 years and highlights significant potential for new mineralisation. With an expanded 1,900 km² licence area, GreenX is integrating geophysical results with historical data, core relogging, and geological modelling to guide the next exploration phase. The findings strengthen the project’s position as a strategic copper asset for Germany and the EU
