Market Alert: Ceasefire Hopes Between Israel and Iran Falter, Renewing Market Volatility
Hawk Resources Limited (ASX: HWK) has revealed a significant 1.1km-long gold anomaly at its Cactus Project in Utah, based on first-ever lab gold analyses of 142 soil samples. The results showed assays up to 1.24g/t at the historical Cactus mine and 0.16g/t at Comet—equating to 200x and 26x the background gold grade. These anomalies align with a SE-NW fault structure that passes through both mine sites. Historical drill holes and rock sampling at Comet also confirm encouraging gold grades, including intersections of up to 25.9m @ 1.53g/t Au.
The gold is strongly associated with silver, antimony, and arsenic, indicating a possible separate mineralisation event from the historic copper system at Cactus. The correlation with copper is only moderate, supporting this theory. Hawk will now further analyse its pXRF data to refine drill targets for its upcoming 2025 exploration program. The gold zone remains open to the northwest, enhancing its exploration appeal.
