HyTerra Limited (ASX: HYT) has reported promising early results from its maiden exploration well, Sue Duroche 3, at the Nemaha Project in Kansas, USA. Laboratory analysis has confirmed hydrogen concentrations of up to 96.1%, validating previous measurements from a nearby historical well (Sue Duroche 2), which recorded up to 92% hydrogen in 2009.
The well was drilled to a total depth of 3,453ft (1,052m) on schedule and within budget, without any safety incidents. Elevated helium levels were also detected in deeper zones, suggesting additional upside potential. The next step involves re-entering the Sue Duroche 3 well for further downhole gas sampling and continuous monitoring. These operations are part of a 12-month exploration campaign funded by Fortescue Future Industries, aimed at unlocking natural hydrogen in the region. The Murfin Rig 116 will mobilize to drill the second planned well, Blythe 13-20, continuing HyTerra’s pioneering white hydrogen exploration momentum.
