International Graphites Proposal for U.S. DoD Funding Gains Positive Feedback

May 19, 2025

International Graphite Limited (ASX: IG6) has received encouraging feedback from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), via the Defense Industrial Base Consortium (DIBC), regarding its proposal for up to US$7.5 million in funding. The proposal, submitted under the open call "Announcement-24-01-064," aims to support feasibility studies for the company's Springdale Graphite Project and downstream processing as part of its integrated ‘mine to market’ strategy.

The initiative supports the U.S. goal of diversifying critical mineral supply chains through secure sources like Western Australia. DIBC confirmed the proposal meets eligibility for “Award/Basket Consideration,” marking a significant step toward potential funding. CEO Andrew Worland highlighted Australia’s strategic role in supplying quality graphite for commercial and defense needs. While positive, the feedback doesn’t guarantee future selection. The company will continue advancing its graphite supply chain strategy and keep the market updated on developments.
