Kinetiko Energy Ltd (ASX: KKO) is an Australian-listed energy company focused on developing shallow conventional gas resources in South Africa’s Mpumalanga Province. The company marked a key milestone by successfully completing its second production test well, KA03PT06, at Brakfontein. The well delivered a record peak gas flow of 1,600 Mscfd, surpassing all historical results and confirming the effectiveness of its new optimized drilling techniques. Together with KA03PT10, this well will form part of the initial cluster designed to supply a pilot LNG plant, targeting maiden gas sales.

Kinetiko holds 100% ownership of its projects through subsidiary Afro Energy. Its gas assets, strategically located near South Africa’s aging coal-fired power stations, are expected to provide a reliable baseload energy source while supporting renewable integration. With maiden reserves, positive economics, and contingent resources of up to 6 Tcf, the company is positioning itself as a key player in South Africa’s long-term energy transition
