Kingsland Minerals Eyes Gallium and Rutile Potential at Leliyn Project

Kingsland Minerals Ltd (ASX: KNG) has initiated test work at its Leliyn Graphite Project in the Northern Territory to explore the economic potential of gallium and rutile by-products alongside its graphite resource. Elevated levels of gallium (up to 30 ppm Ga₂O₃) and rutile (up to 0.61% TiO₂) were identified in graphite flotation tailings, prompting metallurgical studies with CSIRO and Independent Metallurgical Operations. The company estimates conceptual exploration targets of 3,800–4,875 tonnes of Ga₂O₃ and 570,000–975,000 tonnes of TiO₂. Though not included in the current graphite scoping study, future studies may consider their extraction if economically viable. With strong global demand and strategic pricing (~AU$1,600/kg for gallium and ~AU$2,500/t for rutile), Kingsland is well-positioned to benefit from diversification into critical minerals, potentially enhancing the project's commercial appeal
