Macro Metals Secures Mining Services Contract for Extension Iron Ore Project in Pilbara

Macro Metals Limited (ASX: M4M) announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Macro Mining Services Pty Ltd (MMS), has secured a life-of-mine mining services contract from RE: GROUP Pty Ltd for the Extension Iron Ore Project in the Eastern Pilbara Western Australia. The project, comprising three granted mining leases covering 27.6km², lies just 2km from BHP’s Yandi and 20km from Rio Tinto’s Yandicoogina operations. Under the agreement, MMS will deliver technical services, exploration, permitting, mine site establishment, drilling, blasting, mining, haulage, and crushing and screening on a cost-plus 15% basis.

The project includes a 2019 Indicated Resource of 16.1Mt at 54.2% Fe, with metallurgical tests showing a potential upgrade to 11.29Mt at 57.16% Fe through dry screening. Macro plans to leverage its existing logistics hub near Port Hedland’s Utah Point for stockpiling and blending. Macro has also secured a call option to acquire a 27.3% equity stake in the project.
