Matsa Finalises AU$113 Million Option Agreement with AngloGold Ashanti for Lake Carey Gold Project.

Matsa Resources Limited (ASX: MAT) has confirmed that all conditions under its Option Agreement with AngloGold Ashanti Australia have been satisfied, initiating the 18-month Option Period. As per the agreement, Matsa will receive an initial option fee of AU$4.5 million (ex-GST) within five business days, along with reimbursement for tenement-related costs incurred since 18 June 2024. Additionally, Matsa is entitled to two further instalments of AU$1.5 million each, payable at the six and twelve-month marks unless AngloGold Ashanti opts out of the agreement.

AngloGold Ashanti has the right to acquire most of Matsa’s Lake Carey Gold Project by making a further payment of approximately AU$85.26 million and a deferred consideration of up to AU$20 million, bringing the total deal value to around AU$113 million. If the option is not exercised, all option fees received remain with Matsa. This strategic agreement significantly enhances Matsa’s financial flexibility and project value.
