Matsa Resources Secures AU$5 million Option Fee from AngloGold Ashanti

Matsa Resources Limited (ASX: MAT) has received an AU$5 million payment from AngloGold Ashanti Australia under the Tenements Option Agreement related to the Lake Carey Gold Project. This milestone reflects a strategic move in Matsa’s partnership with AngloGold, announced earlier in February 2025, as part of a broader AU$101 million deal.

In addition to the option fee, AngloGold Ashanti will reimburse Matsa for all tenement-related costs incurred since 18 June 2024. This agreement underscores AngloGold’s commitment to the Lake Carey development and provides Matsa with critical funding and cost recovery support. As of 24 June 2025, Matsa’s market capitalization stood at AU$47.67 million, with a share price of 6.5 cents and 733.46 million shares on issue. The top 20 shareholders hold a significant 67.81% stake, reflecting strong insider and institutional confidence in the company’s strategic trajectory
