Michael Hill Appoints Jonathan Waecker as Next CEO

Michael Hill International Limited (ASX: MHJ) has announced that Jonathan Waecker will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer on 27 August 2025. Jonathan brings a wealth of international expertise in retail, digital strategy, customer engagement, and organisational transformation. His professional journey includes senior leadership positions with global names such as The Walt Disney Company and Yahoo, along with recent experience as Chief Customer & Sales Officer at The Warehouse Group. Over his career, he has been recognised for delivering sustained growth, creating customer-first business cultures, and unlocking value through the integration of technology, data, and partnerships. Chair Rob Fyfe emphasised that Jonathan’s commercial insight, digital knowledge, and global outlook are well aligned with Michael Hill’s strategic direction. Relocating from Auckland to Brisbane, Jonathan expressed enthusiasm for guiding the brand’s next phase across Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. With his appointment, Andrew Lowe will conclude his interim CEO responsibilities and return to his role as CFO, ensuring continuity during the transition.
