New Age Exploration (ASX: NAE) has reported encouraging results from its maiden RC drilling campaign at the Lammerlaw Gold Project in New Zealand. The drilling program successfully intersected Macraes-style, shear zone-hosted gold mineralisation within fresh schist, confirming NAE’s exploration strategy targeting the southern limb of the Otago antiform. The highlight was drill hole LAM RC13, which recorded 6m @ 0.65g/t Au from 92m, including 2m @ 1.05g/t Au, accompanied by elevated tungsten (1,750 ppm) and arsenic (680 ppm).
Several other holes also returned anomalous gold and associated pathfinder elements (As, W, Sb), reinforcing the project's geological potential. Textures, mineralogy, and geochemistry align with early-stage Macraes analogues. With strong initial results, NAE plans to follow up by targeting strike extensions and higher-grade zones in future drilling phases. This marks a significant step toward delineating a potential resource within a highly prospective gold-bearing system.
