North Stawell Minerals Advances Gold Exploration with CSIRO Collaboration.

North Stawell Minerals Ltd. (ASX: NSM) has partnered with CSIRO to refine exploration targeting across its Stawell Corridor Project in Victoria. The second Kick-Start project focuses on mapping deep fault systems that may have channeled gold-bearing fluids, using advanced 3D geological modelling. This research integrates with NSM’s prior high-resolution geophysical data, inversion modelling, and numerical fluid-flow simulations to rank prospects for gold mineralisation beneath Murray Basin cover.

The study identified the Coongee Fault, particularly regions near Darlington and Lubeck, as likely conduits for gold-rich fluids. Drilling at Darlington has tested one of the modelled targets, and results are pending. This refined “minerals system” approach improves NSM’s ability to cost-effectively explore for Stawell-type mineralisation beneath cover. The project exemplifies how targeted data-driven modelling can enhance discovery potential in underexplored regions, particularly where gold is structurally focused around basalt formations similar to those at the historic Stawell Gold Mine.
