OD6 Metals Advances Exploration at Gulf Creek Copper Project

OD6 Metals Ltd (ASX: OD6) has received a second green light from regulators, allowing the company to broaden its Phase 2 drilling operations at the Gulf Creek Copper Project located in New South Wales. This phase involves an additional seven drill holes (~2,500m), supplementing the earlier approved 18-hole (~5,000m) program. The new drilling targets include Big Bend, North West, and West Limb—areas showing significant magnetic anomalies aligned with potential volcanic massive sulphide (VMS) zones. These efforts aim to explore over 3km of untested strike along historic mine stratigraphy. Gulf Creek, once among NSW’s highest-grade copper-zinc mines, holds strong potential for copper, zinc, and silver, as confirmed by recent maiden drilling results. OD6’s broader strategy includes applying modern geophysics to revive this century-old site. Alongside copper, the company continues advancing its Splinter Rock rare earths project in Western Australia, which boasts Australia’s largest clay-hosted REE deposit, positioning OD6 as a dual-focus player in critical minerals.
