SKY Metals Achieves Breakthrough Ore Sorting Results at Tallebung

Aug 18, 2025

Sky Metals Ltd (ASX: SKY) has reported exceptional results from full-scale ore sorting testwork at its 100%-owned Tallebung Tin Project in central NSW. Four bulk samples, totalling more than 75 tonnes, were processed using a TOMRA XRT Ore Sorter in a two-stage circuit, delivering significant grade upgrades and recoveries. Stage 1 sorting lifted tin grades from 0.17% Sn to 2.32% Sn, a 13-fold increase, with recoveries exceeding 94.8%.

Stage 2 delivered a further upgrade to 10.8% Sn, with 70% recovery, while also achieving over 93% mass reduction—an outcome expected to materially lower future CAPEX and OPEX. Silver and tungsten also showed strong upgrades, with silver grades increasing tenfold to 75.9g/t Ag at an 80% recovery rate. Managing Director & CEO Oliver Davies highlighted the scalability and reliability of the ore sorting strategy, noting its success even in highly weathered zones. Upcoming DMS and pilot-scale gravity processing will advance Tallebung toward development and offtake opportunities.
