Vulcan Energy (ASX: VUL) is pioneering a carbon-neutral, integrated lithium and renewable energy business in Europe. The company recently received approval from the City of Landau to acquire land for its Geothermal and Lithium Extraction Plant (G-LEP), a key step in developing a 30MW geothermal renewable energy facility and lithium extraction hub. Located in Landau’s industrial park, the project is designed to supply climate-neutral heat and sustainable lithium to the region, reinforcing Europe’s energy transition goals.

Vulcan’s Lionheart Project, positioned within the Upper Rhine Valley Brine Field across Germany and France, holds the distinction of being Europe’s largest lithium deposit and is classified as a tier-one global development. By combining geothermal energy with its proprietary VULSORB® technology, Vulcan aims to deliver a local, low-cost, and environmentally responsible lithium source for European electric vehicle batteries. The company anticipates completing financing for the project in the latter half of 2025.
