Waratah Minerals Strikes Promising Copper-Gold Discoveries at Spur Project

Waratah Minerals (ASX: WTM) has reported a successful maiden drilling campaign at the Breccia West prospect within its Spur Gold-Copper Project in New South Wales, Australia. The company intersected significant porphyry-style copper-gold mineralisation, with standout results from drillhole BZD001 showing 196m at 0.54% CuEq. A second drillhole, BZD002, confirmed additional mineralised zones marked by strong magnetite and potassic alteration, enhancing the geological potential of the site. These results support Waratah’s hypothesis that the Spur Gold Corridor’s epithermal gold mineralisation connects with a deeper porphyry system. The company has now identified a high-priority follow-up target, guided by magnetic anomalies, and is accelerating exploration, including 40 additional drill sites. The Spur Project lies in Australia’s premier gold-copper belt near Newmont’s Cadia Valley, underscoring its strategic value. Waratah’s broader portfolio also includes projects in Victoria and the Kimberley region, positioning it as a rising player in copper and gold exploration.
