Western Yilgarn NL (ASX: WYX) has significantly expanded its gold exploration footprint by acquiring a new project within Western Australia’s Gascoyne Region, just 8.7km from Benz Mining's Glenburgh Gold Project, which hosts over 510,000 ounces of gold. The newly secured 201km² area lies within a highly fertile craton margin and metamorphic belt, known for its potential to host substantial gold mineralisation. All exploration licences are 100% owned and situated within the Dalgaringa Supersuite, the same geological setting as Glenburgh.
The region remains largely underexplored, offering promising upside for gold discoveries, especially across its gneissic rock horizons. Initial exploration has commenced with detailed geological and geophysical assessments aimed at identifying drill targets. This acquisition aligns with Western Yilgarn's broader strategic restructuring, including the divestment of overseas assets and the pursuit of high-potential nickel and gold projects in emerging Australian mining regions.
