Western Yilgarn Expands High-Grade Bauxite Footprint in Western Australia

Western Yilgarn NL (ASX: WYX) has secured Exploration Licences E70/6702 and E70/6703 for its Cardea 1 and 2 Bauxite Projects in the Darling Range, a prolific bauxite region in Western Australia. Located just 16.5 km from the 168Mt Julimar West Bauxite resource, Cardea 2 has already seen 316 vacuum drillholes completed, with 117 analyzed for available alumina and reactive silica. Results are promising, revealing high-grade bauxite with over 35% available alumina and an average of 4% reactive silica—surpassing the grades mined at South32’s Worsley operations. Historical data also supports significant total alumina content across several drillholes. The bauxite zone spans 1.7 km by 0.5 km and benefits from proximity to critical transport infrastructure, including a railway line. The project demonstrates substantial growth potential through further western and northern exploration and aligns well with robust alumina market conditions
