European Lithium Sells 5 Million CRML Shares for A$124 Million, Boosting Cash Reserves to AU$322 Million
European Lithium Ltd (ASX: EUR) has completed the sale of 5 million shares in Critical Metals Corp. for approximately AU$124 million. This transaction, facilitated by BMO Capital Markets, increases EUR’s cash reserves to AU$322 million. Despite the sale, EUR retains 48,036,338 shares in CRML, which are currently valued at AU$1.23 billion, based on CRML’s closing share price of US$17.17 as of 20 January 2026. Tony Sage, Executive Chairman of European Lithium, stated that the sale enhances the company’s financial flexibility while maintaining a significant stake in CRML. The proceeds from the transaction will help strengthen EUR’s balance sheet, support ongoing projects, and enable the company to explore new opportunities or return capital to shareholders. European Lithium remains focused on lithium exploration and development, with assets in Austria, Ukraine, and Ireland, as well as a 7.5% interest in the Tanbreez rare earth project in Greenland.
