Patriot Resources Expands Zambia Copper Corridor with New High-Priority Targets
Patriot Resources Limited (ASX: PAT) has significantly expanded the exploration footprint at its wholly owned Tonic Prospect within Zambia's Mumbwa copper district, extending the prospective corridor to approximately 5.5 kilometres southeast of the original discovery. Recent ground magnetic and induced polarisation (IP) surveys have identified two new high-priority targets, Block 1 and Block 2, both displaying geological and geophysical characteristics consistent with iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG)-style mineralisation. The targets exhibit hydrothermal alteration, intrusive granite-syenite associations, and strong structural controls, reinforcing the potential for a larger multi-centre copper system.
The expanded targets are located along the regional Mumbwa Fault Zone, which also hosts Sinomine's Kitumba copper deposit, highlighting the project's strategic location within a proven mineralised corridor. Previous drilling at Tonic confirmed shallow copper-silver-zinc-cobalt mineralisation and demonstrated that the system remains open along strike and at depth, providing a strong foundation for further exploration. Patriot plans to advance the newly identified targets alongside Phase 2 reverse circulation and diamond drilling, leveraging its established operational base in Zambia. The company believes the growing pipeline of drill-ready prospects enhances the project's regional exploration potential while supporting the search for additional copper discoveries in one of Africa's leading mining jurisdictions.
