Austral Resources Australia Ltd (ASX: AR1) has reported another encouraging copper-gold drilling result at its Cameron River Project in Queensland, identifying what may be a second parallel mineralised lode about 300 metres south of the Snow Queen Prospect. Drillhole 26SQRC006 returned an intersection of 15 metres grading 1.20% copper and 0.24 g/t gold, including a higher-grade interval of 5 metres at 3.04% copper and 0.60 g/t gold. The result suggests mineralisation extends beyond the original Snow Queen discovery and supports the possibility of multiple copper-gold lodes within the broader corridor. Located around 60km from the Rocklands Processing Facility, the project aligns with Austral’s strategy of expanding regional feed sources for its existing processing infrastructure.
Geological observations indicate the Santa Maria Trend shares similar host rocks, alteration patterns and structural characteristics with the Snow Queen Trend, strengthening confidence that both belong to the same mineral system. Additional drilling also identified previously unrecognised sulphide mineralisation, highlighting further exploration upside across the project.
To accelerate exploration, Austral has mobilised a second drill rig and launched a broader regional drilling campaign targeting more than 35 historical copper workings across its North West Queensland tenure. Follow-up drilling at Snow Queen is underway to define the extent of the new discovery, while further testing will focus on additional geochemical, geophysical and structural targets. Further assay outcomes and exploration milestones are expected to be announced as the ongoing drilling program moves forward during 2026.
