Barton Gold Holdings Limited (ASX: BGD) has reported another strong set of assay results from its Phase 2 reverse circulation drilling program at the Tunkillia Gold Project in South Australia. The latest drilling focused on Area 223 North and the southern portion of the main Area 223 open pit, delivering several broad and higher-grade gold intersections that further strengthen confidence in the project's mineralisation. Management noted that the ongoing drilling campaign continues to identify opportunities to improve both the size and grade of the mineral resource. The company expects additional assay results over the coming weeks before completing updated resource estimates for both gold and silver.
The roughly 40,000-metre Phase 2 drilling campaign is approaching its final stages, while the Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS), led by GR Engineering, continues to advance and is expected to be finalised during the first quarter of calendar 2027. Alongside drilling, Barton is advancing environmental, heritage, geotechnical and infrastructure studies to support a future mining lease application and project financing discussions. The company's earlier Optimised Scoping Study outlined a robust development case, including annual production of around 120,000 ounces of gold and 250,000 ounces of silver, highlighting the project's long-term development potential.
