Boab Metals Secures EPBC Approval for Sorby Hills Development.

Boab Metals Limited (ASX: BML) has received approval under the Federal Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) for its Sorby Hills Silver-Lead-Zinc Project in Western Australia’s Kimberley region. The approval, granted to its subsidiary Sorby Management Pty Ltd, allows development of the proposed open-pit operation, including key infrastructure such as a tailings storage facility, evaporation pond, borrow pit, and related support works.

Located 50km north-east of Kununurra, Sorby Hills is strategically positioned with access to sealed roads connecting the site to Wyndham Port, about 150km away. Boab currently holds a 75% interest in the project, with the remaining 25% owned by Henan Yuguang Gold & Lead Co. Ltd., and retains an option to acquire full ownership upon reaching a Final Investment Decision (FID). With EPBC approval secured, Boab is advancing development plans and is targeting an FID on Sorby Hills in Q4 2025, marking a major milestone for the project’s progression.
