Meteoric Resources NL – Update on the Caldeira Rare Earth Project
Meteoric Resources NL (ASX: MEI) has reported positive advancements at its Caldeira Rare Earth Project in Minas Gerais, Brazil, highlighting key milestones at its newly commissioned Mixed Rare Earth Carbonate (MREC) Pilot Plant. The pilot plant has reached important milestones, including a 70% average magnet rare earth recovery to MREC, aligning with the results from ANSTO’s continuous test work. With an output capacity of around 2.0 kg per day, production has surpassed expectations, reaching 2.6 kg per day.
Notably, the MREC produced contains 32.7% magnetic rare earth oxide, including 1.0% dysprosium and terbium oxides. The plant also successfully recycled about 85% of water and 90% of ammonium sulfate, demonstrating efficient resource management. Meteoric’s achievement supports the ongoing de-risking of the Caldeira Project's process flowsheet and paves the way for further downstream processing in Brazil. These results are crucial for product qualification by offtake partners, moving the project closer to commercial production.
