Viking Mines Reports Encouraging Tungsten Results from Linka Exploration
Viking Mines Limited (ASX: VKA) has delivered encouraging exploration results from its latest field programme at the Linka Tungsten Project in Nevada, with sampling confirming widespread tungsten mineralisation across historical stockpiles and previously mined surface areas. The programme identified tungsten grades reaching 1.8% WO₃ in stockpile material, suggesting that legacy mining operations left behind mineralised rock with potential economic value. Surface trench sampling also outlined several mineralised zones, including intervals of 1 metre at 1.3% WO₃, 5 metres at 0.4% WO₃, and 3 metres at 0.5% WO₃, reinforcing the continuity of mineralisation across the project. The results support further evaluation of the stockpiles as a potential feed source using modern ore-sorting technology, while additional sampling will help define grade distribution more accurately. The company will also continue metallurgical studies and progress its maiden drilling programme, with the objective of expanding geological understanding and assessing future development opportunities at the Linka project.
