Mount Ridley Advances Rare Earth Processing Strategy with Positive TIMA Results at Grass Patch

Mount Ridley Mines Limited (ASX: MRD) has reported encouraging results from its first automated mineralogy (TIMA) study at the Grass Patch Project in Western Australia. The analysis confirmed that rare earth elements are primarily hosted within three phosphate minerals—xenotime, crandallite group phosphates, and monazite/rhabdophane. This finding represents an important step in refining the project's processing strategy by identifying the mineral hosts of the deposit and supporting the development of an efficient beneficiation flowsheet.

The results indicate that flotation could become a viable pre-treatment method to concentrate rare earth minerals before leaching, potentially reducing the volume of material requiring downstream processing. The identified phosphate minerals occur within the project's shallow regolith profile, prompting the company to accelerate liberation and flotation testing alongside its ongoing Phase 1 metallurgical program. Bench-scale flotation studies will now be undertaken to assess concentrate grades and recovery potential before further metallurgical work progresses.
