BOQ Announces AU$295 Million Capital Return as Digital Transformation Nears Completion
Bank of Queensland Limited (ASX: BOQ) announced on 10 August 2026 a capital return of approximately AU$295 million, reflecting its strong balance sheet following the completed sale of its equipment finance portfolio. BOQ will return capital to shareholders through a 15-cent fully franked special dividend, alongside a share buy-back of up to AU$196 million. The dividend is scheduled for payment on 24 August 2026, with the ex-dividend date on 13 August and record date on 14 August.
BOQ also confirmed the completion of its ME customer migration, involving approximately 350,000 customers, marking a major digital transformation milestone. The Group recorded a AU$47 million pre-tax impairment on technology and other assets in 2H26, while maintaining its FY26 expense-growth guidance excluding the notable item. The CET1 ratio stood at 11.79% at 31 May 2026 and is expected to remain above the Group’s target range after the capital return.
