Sentinel Metals Delivers Strong Maiden Columbia Gold Result
Sentinel Metals Limited (ASX: SNM) has reported a strong maiden diamond-drilling result from its Columbia Gold-Silver Project in Montana, USA, with hole DDCO26-001 intersecting 46.8 metres at 5.5 g/t gold from 88.2 metres. The intercept included higher-grade zones of 21.4 metres at 11.1 g/t and 13.5 metres at 16.6 g/t gold.
The drilling also confirmed that gold mineralisation extends into fresh rock below the oxide boundary, with 95–100% core recovery recorded in several deeper intervals. Sentinel Metals is continuing its maiden 21-hole drilling program, with assays from holes DDCO26-002 to DDCO26-005 pending.
However, the company highlighted that the highest-grade 105.5–119.0 metre interval had low average core recovery of 20%. Fire-assay checks are pending, and the interval is planned for re-drilling using triple-tube equipment.
