Santos Secures US$1 billion Bond to Strengthen Financial Position

Santos Limited (ASX: STO) has successfully priced a US$1 billion senior unsecured fixed-rate bond under the U.S. Rule 144A/Reg S market, with a 5.75% coupon and a 10-year maturity ending in November 2035. Issued by Santos Finance Limited and guaranteed by Santos Limited, the proceeds will fund general corporate purposes. CEO Kevin Gallagher emphasized that the strong market support reinforces the company’s financial stability and strategic flexibility. He noted that the deal positions Santos for disciplined growth, enabling expansion in production while ensuring robust returns for shareholders. The bond settlement is expected on 13 November 2025, pending customary closing conditions. This transaction underlines investor confidence in Santos’ long-term strategy and its diversified, high-quality asset portfolio, ensuring sustained liquidity and financial resilience in the global energy sector.
