Superior Resources Confirms Strong Metallurgical Performance to Advance Steam Engine Toward Development
Superior Resources Limited (ASX: SPQ) has reported encouraging coarse-grind metallurgical test results for its 100%-owned Steam Engine Gold Project in northeast Queensland. The latest program evaluated the impact of a coarser 150-micron grind size compared with the conventional 75-micron approach, confirming only modest reductions in recovery — around 6% for the Steam Engine Lode and approximately 2% for the Eastern Ridge Lode. Importantly, the introduction of a gravity recovery stage boosted overall gold recovery by up to 8.3%.
Results reinforce prior metallurgical programs and support toll-treatment discussions with a third-party processor. They also align with the positive outcomes of the recent Scoping Study, which highlighted strong project economics at higher gold prices. Superior will incorporate these findings into the ongoing Feasibility Study as it works toward defining the optimal processing route for future development.
