Volt Resources: Advancing a Strategic U.S. Graphite Refinery
Volt Resources Limited (ASX: VRC) is progressing its downstream growth strategy with the launch of a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) for the first stage of its Alabama Graphite Refinery, aimed at producing high-purity graphite (HPG). Scheduled for completion by June 2026, the DFS builds on a 2025 Scoping Study that demonstrated strong economics, including a pre-tax NPV of US$136 million and a 58% IRR. The project will be developed in two phases: initial HPG production using proven Ukrainian purification technology, followed by ultra-high-purity graphite (UHPG) output leveraging Volt’s patent-pending, HF-free process. Designed for feedstock flexibility, the refinery can process graphite from Volt’s Ukrainian and Tanzanian operations, third-party suppliers, and recycled sources. Supported by growing U.S. demand for critical minerals and Wave International’s engineering leadership, the project positions Volt as a key contributor to North American graphite supply chains.
