Wia Gold Secures AU$125 Million to Fund Kokoseb Gold Project

Wia Gold Limited (ASX: WIA) has secured firm commitments for an AU$125 million placement at AU$0.425 per share, aimed at advancing its Kokoseb Gold Project in Namibia through construction and towards first gold production. The capital raising received backing from both new and existing institutional and sophisticated investors, with completion subject to shareholder approval at a meeting anticipated for late September or early October 2026

The funding will support pre-production capital, project studies, permitting, environmental activities and exploration. Combined with the proposed US$360 million Sprott debt facility and existing cash reserves, Wia says the funding package is expected to cover development through first gold, targeted for Q4 2028. The Kokoseb project has a 3.78Moz Mineral Resource, while its DFS established a 1.95Moz Probable Ore Reserve and a 14-year initial mine life.
