Archer Materials Strengthens Potassium Biosensor Development with Early Study Results
Archer Materials Limited (ASX: AXE) has reported encouraging findings from an early-stage blood collection study supporting the development of its potassium Biosensor. The study involved 20 donors and compared conventional venous blood collection with several capillary, or finger-prick, collection methods.
The results identified a promising capillary collection method that generated consistently low haemolysis levels broadly comparable with conventional venous collection. This is important because haemolysis can release potassium into blood samples and potentially produce artificially elevated readings.
Archer said the findings will support further engineering of its beta prototype and the integration of blood collection, processing and sensing technologies. The results are also expected to contribute to the design of future pilot and pivotal studies and planned regulatory engagement, including a future FDA Pre-Submission.
