Market Alert : Can the ASX 200 Maintain Its Upward Momentum Through Earnings Season?

Orora Delivers Steady FY26 Earnings as Cans Growth Offsets Glass Market Pressures

Orora Limited (ASX: ORA) delivered steady underlying earnings in FY2026, supported by strong momentum in its Cans business despite challenging conditions across global glass markets. Group revenue increased 6.5% to AU$2,225.9 million, while EBITDA edged 0.3% higher to AU$420.3 million. Cans volumes grew 6.3%, supporting a 10.5% increase in EBITDA to AU$131.2 million, driven by aluminium substitution and demand from emerging beverage categories. Conversely, Saverglass faced adverse product mix, pricing pressure, US tariffs and Middle East disruptions, contributing to a significant non-cash Glass impairment and a statutory NPAT loss of AU$616.6 million. Underlying NPAT declined 5.9% to AU$142.2 million. Orora maintained strong cash conversion at 98.3% and returned approximately AU$118 million through share buybacks. Looking ahead, completed Cans capacity investments should support further growth, while Glass initiatives target more than €30 million in net EBIT run-rate improvement by FY2030.
