Brazilian Rare Earths Unveils Strong Rocha da Rocha Scoping Study Economics

Brazilian Rare Earths Limited (ASX: BRE) has delivered a compelling Scoping Study for its Rocha da Rocha Project in Bahia, Brazil, highlighting the potential for a large-scale and globally competitive rare earth development. The study estimates a post-tax NPV8 of US$7.9 billion, an 89% post-tax IRR and a payback period of 1.1 years. Capital required to reach first oxide production is estimated at US$969 million, while average annual EBITDA over the project life is projected at US$1.4 billion. The project is positioned within the first quartile of the global rare earth cost curve, supported by an estimated C1 cash cost of approximately US$21/kg on an NdPr-equivalent basis. BRE is also assessing a faster development pathway at Monte Alto, requiring US$91 million to commence concentrate production and potentially generate earlier cash flow before construction of the refinery. The broader strategy combines high-grade resources, established infrastructure and exposure to strategically important heavy rare earths.
