Carnavale Resources Delivers Strong Metallurgical Results at Kookynie Gold Project
Carnavale Resources Limited (ASX: CAV) has reported definitive feasibility study-level metallurgical testwork results for its Kookynie Gold Project in Western Australia, confirming excellent processing characteristics that strengthen the project's development potential. Testwork achieved outstanding gold recoveries of 98%–99% at a 106-micron grind size across oxide, transitional, and fresh ore types. The ore also demonstrated gravity recoveries ranging from 71% to 81%, low cyanide consumption, and no evidence of preg-robbing, refractory mineralisation, or deleterious elements, indicating suitability for conventional carbon-in-leach (CIL) processing.
The company completed extensive metallurgical testing using representative composite and variability samples, confirming consistent performance across all mineralogical domains. Results indicate that the Kookynie ore can be efficiently processed through existing third-party Goldfields processing facilities, supporting the company's toll treatment strategy. Initial tailings assessments also suggest no material environmental processing concerns. With the project located within trucking distance of several operating processing plants and previous studies highlighting a high-grade resource suitable for open-pit and underground mining, these findings further de-risk the project and enhance confidence in future commercial development.
