Nex Metals Expands Gold Exploration Footprint with East Scotia Acquisition
Nex Metals Explorations Limited (ASX: NME), through its joint venture with Wangkatja Tjungula Aboriginal Corporation (WTAC), has agreed to acquire the East Scotia Gold Project in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields. The project comprises three granted exploration licences covering 133.41 km² and lies within the geological sequence hosting the Golden Cities and Kanowna Belle mining complexes. Notably, the area has seen no modern exploration since the early 2000s, providing scope for fresh exploration activity.
The acquisition consideration is AU$100,000 plus a 2% net smelter return royalty, with WTAC funding the acquisition under the joint venture arrangement. The transaction will move forward once the due diligence process is successfully concluded and all stipulated requirements have been fulfilled.
Following regulatory approvals, the JV plans auger geochemistry, geological reconnaissance and initial RAB and/or air-core drilling to validate historical information, strengthen geological understanding and identify priority targets for further exploration.
