QBE Insurance Group Delivers Resilient Half-Year Performance

QBE Insurance Group Limited (ASX: QBE) reported a resilient first-half performance for the period ended 30 June 2026, with insurance revenue rising 10% to US$11.95 billion and statutory net profit increasing 1% to US$1.03 billion. The insurance operating result advanced 8% to US$691 million, supported by premium growth and favourable prior-year claims development. Gross written premiums climbed 10% to US$15.14 billion, while the combined operating ratio remained stable at 92.8%.

International operations continued to provide strong momentum, with gross written premiums increasing 9% on a constant-currency basis and the combined operating ratio improving to 91.6%. QBE also maintained a robust capital position, completing its A$450 million share buyback and declaring an interim dividend of 33 Australian cents per share, up from 31 cents previously. Management retained its 2026 outlook, targeting a combined operating ratio of around 92.5% and mid-single-digit constant-currency premium growth.
