Patagonia Lithium Expands Rare Earth Exploration Footprint in Brazil
Patagonia Lithium Limited (ASX: PL3) has identified 10 new rare earth element (REE) targets near its existing sample locations in Goiás State, Brazil. The company deployed the deterministic Logos geophysics system, integrating radiometric surveys, fenitisation filters and AI-based screening to refine exploration targets and lower exploration risk. PL3 plans to advance auger sampling, followed by ground magnetic surveys to validate geological structures.
Testing demonstrated encouraging accuracy, with all blind-test predictions falling within a 2 km radius of known PL3 sample points and an average localisation error of around 450 metres. The system also showed early capability to estimate approximate TREO content.
Overall, the system generated 25 exploration targets, including 15 new mineralisation targets and 10 independently confirmed sample locations. The five highest-ranked new targets will receive priority soil and rock-chip sampling, strengthening PL3’s exploration strategy around the prospective Catalão carbonatite complex.
